“So basically I found a couple of years ago that social media sort of started to feel a bit like of the medias way of monitoring my every move. I started to realize that if I didn’t wish one of my friends a happy birthday on Instagram there would literally be articles saying ‘Un-squadded! Taylor Swift is no longer friends with so and so’ and I’d be at the persons birthday party with them. I kinda reject this idea that if you didn’t see it on the internet then it didn’t happen. It was kind of my way of like not allowing my life to be controlled and monitored by social media. And I think we’re all trying to take steps to figure out how to not let it take over our lives and our feelings and validations. You can’t have a memory and take a picture of it and spend the rest of the day looking at comments for that one snapshot of your day. “The reason that happened was cause I literally came off stage and the first thing I said to you like off camera was I’m disgusting you don’t wanna hug me, I sweat so much on that stage, it’s so hot out, I need a shower right now.
